BOOK OF GLEANINGS.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN: THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
(1) "I Am the immortality latent in all things mortal. The light filling all things with radiance, the power holding all things to their form. I Am the pure, invulnerable stream untouchable by evil, the Supreme Fountain-head of thoughts, the unfailing well of consciousness, the Light of Eternity. I Am that to which the soul of man is related. I Am its Power, its Life, its strength. I Am that to which it responds."
(2) "I Am the sweet coolness in refreshing waters and the comforting warmth in the sun. I Am the calmness of Peace in the radiance of the moon and the delicacy in the moonbeam. I Am the sound heard in the stillness, the companionship felt in the solitude and the stirring in the hearts of men. I Am the cheerfulness in the laugh of a youth and the gentleness in the sigh of a maiden. I Am the joy in the life of all living things and the content in the hearts of awakened souls. I Am the beauty in the beautiful and the fragrance in the fragrant. I Am the sweetness
in honey and the scent in perfume. I Am the power in the strong arm and the wistfulness in a smile. I Am the urge in good and moderate desires. I Am the gaiety in gladness, the restlessness in Life, the refreshment in sleep. Yet
though I Am in all these, I Am not contained in them and they are in Me rather than I Am in them. How pitiful are the words of men to depict sublime things! With the souls of men asleep, enwrapped in clouds of delusion, how can I be known to them?"
(3) "I Am of the Supreme, the Eternal, of God and from God, yet not God. As heat to fire, as fragrance to flowers, as light to a lamp, so Am I to God. I Am the power of God operating in matter. I Am the first created of creation, I Am the Eternal thread upon which all creation is strung. I Am the effective thought of God. I Am that brought forth by His creating command, wherein all things share life. I Am the Lord of forms holding all things together."
(4) "I Am the power giving form, I Am the comforting companion of the Way. I Am that which gives substance to the hopes and desires of men. Think of Me therefore in any way you will. I Am the Companionable One, the Comforter. I Am the waters of inspiration springing from the Eternal Fount. I Am the Glory of love shining forth from the Central Sun. I Am in all things."
(5) "I Am the root of the Tree of Life, the words written in the Book of God. I Am the guardian of knowledge, the wisdom of the soul. I Am the harmoniser of sound, the controller of power, the keeper of matter and the sustainer of shapes. I unroll the scroll of time and record its changes. I Am the reader of past and present, the scribe of change, the chooser of chance."
(6) "I Am victory and the struggle for victory, but I Am more, I Am that which defeats defeat, for I Am the victory in defeat. I Am the goodness of those who are good, but I Am more, for I Am the success that arises out of failure. I Am the achievement remaining when all else has gone."
(7) "I Am the sublime veiling secret mysteries. I Am the guardian who jealously discloses hidden things. I Am the knowledge of the knower. I Am the seed within the seed from which all things spring. I Am the bricks of which all things are built. I Am more, I Am the clay and water within the bricks. I Am the motion in all things that move, without Me there is no movement. I Am the stability in all things stable, without Me no thing holds to its shape." "I Am the craftsman with innumerable shapes, the artist with countless colours. My labours are outside the knowledge of men, My works beyond their sight. My masterpieces will never be seen by mortal eyes."
(8)"That which abides in breath and yet is other than breath, which breath itself cannot know or influence, which controls it from within itself, that Am I. That which is behind the voice, which voice itself cannot know or influence, which controls it from behind itself, that Am I. That which is in the eye yet is other than the eye, which the eye itself cannot know or influence, which controls it from within, that Am I. That which is behind the touch and yet is other than touch, which touch itself cannot know or influence, which manipulates it from behind itself, that Am I. Yet this you must know: I Am not you, nor are you Me, though I abide in you as you abide in Me. Let wisdom disentangle these feeble words set down through the hands of mortal men."
(9) "The Glory that shines from the Lord of the Day, the gentle gleam radiating from the Mistress of the Night, the comforting glow from the hearth fire, all these are of My substance. I penetrate Earth with Love. I raise up the seed. I Am the breath within the breath of all living things. I Am the sweet scent of flowers and the bitter tang of vinegar. I Am the differentiating essence in all things."
COMMENTARY.
“The soul of Man is that which is related to Me. The Power, the Life, the Strength to which it responds. I Am the immortality in things mortal. The Light filling with radiance. The Power holding things in form. The pure, invulnerable stream untouchable by evil. The Supreme Fountain-head of thoughts. The unfailing well of consciousness. The Light of Eternity.”
“The sweet coolness in refreshing waters. The comforting warmth in the sun. The calmness of Peace. Radiance of the moon. Delicacy in the moonbeam. I Am the sound in the stillness, companionship in solitude and stirring in the hearts of men. Cheerfulness in the laugh of a youth as well as gentleness in sigh of a maiden. I Am Joy in Life of living things and content in hearts of awakened souls. Beauty in the beautiful and fragrance in the fragrant. The sweetness in honey and scent in perfume. I Am power in strong arm and wistfulness in a smile. The urge in good and moderate desires. Gaiety in gladness, restlessness in Life, refreshment in sleep. Though I’m all these they are more in Me than I Am contained in them. Pitiful are men’s words to show sublime things! With their souls asleep in clouds of delusion how can they know Me?” Let’s look, therefore, at how the Supreme Being showed Himself to Hurmanetar in chapter 10. Thus:
‘Hurmanetar went out towards a place of solitude, about one day's journey distant. Having gone about half the way he became weary under the noonday sun and so sat down beneath a tree to rest in its shade. Then, as he drowsed, behold, a great flash of light came down from out of Heaven and it smote the ground before him. He heard a great noise like a mighty whip crack, and he was blinded. Then he heard a voice saying, "Behold I Am here, the Yah of gods and the Yah of Men in the beginning." Hearing this, Hurmanetar fell upon his face and cried, "O Great One, I am Your servant."
‘Then Yah said, "Wherefore would you open a door unto Me? Because the race of Man has been defiled and men are no longer with Me, Am I not the withdrawn One, the Hidden One?"
‘Hurmanetar, still on the ground, answered, "O Father of the gods, I Your servant would know Your will. I have a task nigh finished and seek to know whether it is well in Your sight, or whether it is a thing done without Your blessing."
‘Yah answered Hurmanetar, saying, "Is this not a Sacred Thing, a heritage saved and handed down from the days when men walked with Me? Therefore, it is a good thing, though care must be taken to ensure it is not disclosed to the eyes of profane men. The concoctions which, when properly compounded, will enable men to span the Spheres can also, used otherwise, give men near unlimited potency and extreme pleasure with womankind. Therefore, such things must be carefully safeguarded, for in the hands of lesser men they will certainly be abused. But let it all be as it is written, do with it as you have been instructed."
‘ "You call upon Me as the Father of the gods, nor do you err in this. Yet I Am the Hidden Yah, the Yah of Secret Manifestation, the Wronged Yah, the Betrayed Yah, the Disappointed Yah. I Am the Yah who sought to give Love Divine to men by making them My heirs, making them partakers of divinity, co-creators with Me. But men spurn their birthright, not through wickedness alone but through their weakness and love of pleasure. Therefore, the Love once offered cannot now be displayed in all its Glory; it cannot be revealed in its beauty, it must now be leavened with severity and chastisement. This, so that those who are the inheritors of Divinity may return to it with undiminished powers, but purged of their weaknesses and love of unprofitable pleasure. This you should know, that men may know: Divinity of itself is not a created thing and cannot be bestowed as a gift. It comes as the crown of achievement. I, the Almighty Yah who, by taking thought can create ten thousand worlds, say this."
‘ "Men have said, as they will say throughout the ages, "Why, if Yah be Almighty, can He not create perfection immediately? Why does He not create beings having the knowledge of Divine Love forthwith? Why have Earth with all its trials and tribulations?" Know this, what appears to you as ages in time is, to Me, but a flash of thought in a moment of Eternity. I breathed in, the hosts of Earths and the Spheres were not. I breathed out and the hosts of Earths and Spheres were. I breathe in and they are no more. All things exist within the Eternal One and that which men know as the span of time is the act of creation."
"Mark the flight of an arrow from the hands of a bowman. It flies from the bent bow, time passes, then it finds its mark. But to Me the arrow leaves the bow, and strikes the mark together. Distance, time and change are not with Me. Once 1, your Yah, was not apart from Man, My offspring. Now I am veiled from his sight, not because I have willed it so but because Man has chosen to bring this about. The barrier between us grows ever more dense, as Man wantonly spurns his birthright; henceforth, it may be penetrated only by long and arduous preparations, and even then those who would do so must know the key. I come to you, not because of your preparations but because your Yah is ever ready to incline towards men. Though there is this barrier between us, it is not impervious to the sincere prayers of a pure heart. This, men should know. As for you your days are numbered, you are now no more than the basket holding the seeds which will be strewn and sown by another hand. Many things of which I have spoken are not for the ears of men, for such knowledge, freely bestowed, would not benefit them. Other things are beyond their present understanding, let these, therefore, be recorded unto the generations of men yet unborn. Men are now as children and must learn again as children, being taught childish tales."
‘ "Therefore, go hence, go to Ancheti and tell him of these things. Say also that his Yah, I Who Am, chooses him as the sower of seeds. Let him know that I Who Am will guide his steps and will open a door in the barrier, that he may hear My voice. Let your eyes now see again and, behold, I Am Who I Am." ‘ So He’s hidden and invisible. What he was doing was part of Father’s will and would improve/lift up mankind - a Sacred Thing handed down. Handed down from a time when men followed long before but with a realisation in more modern times of Hanok (Noah). The concoctions I don’t understand other than they help in resisting evil for a time again when the Earthly Mother is restored to her rightful position. Calling on Him isn’t wrong but we need to be partakers of Divinity and co-creators. You spurn birthright through wickedness but also weakness and love of pleasure so severity and chastisement are yours rather than Love in all its Glory. Those, however, who do return to it become inheritors of Divinity with undiminished powers - the crown of achievement. It is important to be this. The span of time is the act of Creation. Veiled from our sight, yes. Long and arduous preparations are needed to counteract this but He comes not because of them but due to His inclination. This barrier between us isn’t impervious to a pure heart. Men should know this. Be the basket holding the seeds to hand on at the right time. Behold, I Am Who I Am.
"I Am of the Supreme, the Eternal, of God and from God, yet not God.” As heat to fire. Fragrance to flowers. Light to a lamp. So Am I to the Supreme. The Power operating in matter. The first created of Creation. The Eternal thread from which it is strung. His effective thought. The One brought forth by the creating command (because of the love of Mary & Joseph). So all things share Life. Lord (if you like but not the right word) holding all things together.” It appears to be talking of the one we refer to as Jesus but its not as we think. Read my commentary on the “Lost Years of Saint Issa.” The One Who loved the Father and wanted His ways. Emperor Constantine and the Council of Nicaea elevated Him to Divine status! He’s mortal like us. The earthly characteristics were removed to create this persona. Not a sacrifice for our sins but a death for our deliverance - partial in His time but full now for us at the end of the age. (Yay!) As an example, Moses, who listened, heard and obeyed. Took the Israelis out of Egypt to save from the Destroyer not because they are chosen people but they started sacrificing through their beliefs in Egypt! Then started writing books (Moses, Ezra and later Sanhedrin before Rome in AD). No need for Father to write a book because it would be corrupted. You cannot be taught. Truth is invisible and hidden. Your a spirit. Or put another way, the thoughts of Man (spoken and written) won’t add up to Truth. Everything you’ve done is short of the mark without Divine revelation.
“I Am also the power giving form and comforting companion on the Way. Substance to hopes and desires. Therefore, think of Me how you will. The Companionable One, the Comforter. The waters of inspiration from the Eternal Fount. Glory shining forth from Central Sun. I Am in all things.” Alternatively, it might be mentioning the Holy Spirit. The Father’s Holy Spirit! (Did you catch that?) Either way, Jesus had a “full” measure of the Holy Spirit because He was the Elect of the Father Who loved Him (Father) most. Not like the rest of us who have a spark of the Eternal or Divine. Makes a difference! So did Jesus go through Life without sinning? Whichever, He certainly had stopped by the end of His Life. We’re definitely seeing much of the Earthly Mother in these words. For a fuller recap on Her read my commentary on Essene Book of Revelation or the Essene Gospel of Peace. Here for yourselves are a few short notes from the Gospel book. Thus:
‘ "Your Mother is in you, and you in her. She bore you she gives you Life. It was she who gave to you your body, and to her shall you one day give it back again. Happy are you when you come to know her and her Kingdom; if you receive your Mother's angels and if you do her laws. I tell you truly, he who does these things shall never see disease. For the power of our Mother is above all. And it destroys Satan and his kingdom, and has rule over all your bodies and all living things.
"The blood which runs in us is born of the blood of our Earthly Mother. Her blood falls from the clouds; leaps from the womb of the earth; babbles in the brooks of the mountains; flows wide in the rivers of the plains; sleeps in the lakes; rages mightily in tempestuous seas.
"The Air which we breathe is born of the breath of our Earthly Mother. Her breath is azure in the heights of the heavens; soughs in the tops of the mountains; whispers the leaves of the forest; billows over the cornfields; slumbers in the deep valleys, burns hot in the desert.
"The hardness of our bones is born of the bones of our Earthly Mother, of the rocks and of the stones. They stand naked to the heavens on the tops of mountains; are as giants that lie sleeping on the sides of the mountains, as idols set in the desert, and are hidden in the deepness of the Earth.
"The tenderness of our flesh is born of the flesh of our Earthly Mother; whose flesh waxes yellow and red in the fruits of the trees, and nurtures us in the furrows of the fields.
"Our bowels are born of the bowels of our Earthly Mother, and are hid from our eyes, like the invisible depths of the Earth.
"The light of our eyes, the hearing of our ears, both are born of the colours and the sounds of our Earthly Mother; which enclose us about, as the waves of the sea a fish, as the eddying air a bird.
"I tell you in very Truth, Man is the Son of the Earthly Mother, and from her did the Son of Man receive His whole body, even as the body of the newborn babe is born of the womb of his mother. I tell you truly, you are one with the Earthly Mother; she is in you, and you in her. Of her were you born, in her do you live, and to her shall you return again. Keep, therefore, her laws, for none can live long, neither be happy, but he who honours his Earthly Mother and does her laws. For your breath is her breath; your blood her blood; your bone her bone; your flesh her flesh; your bowels her bowels; your eyes and your ears are her eyes and her ears.
"I tell you truly, should you fail to keep but one only of all these laws, should you harm but one only of all your body's members, you shall be utterly lost in your grievous sickness, and there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I tell you, unless you follow the laws of your Mother, you can in no wise escape death. And he who clings to the laws of his Mother, to him shall his Mother cling also. She shall heal all his plagues, and he shall never become sick. She gives him long Life, and protects him from all afflictions; from fire, from water, from the bite of venomous serpents. For your Mother bore you, keeps life within you. She has given you her body, and none but she heals you. Happy is he who loves his Mother and lies quietly in her bosom. For your Mother loves you, even when you turn away from her. And how much more shall she love you, if you turn to her again? I tell you truly, very great is her love, greater than the greatest of mountains, deeper than the deepest seas. And those who love their Mother, she never deserts them. As the hen protects her chickens, as the lioness her cubs, as the mother her newborn babe, so does the Earthly Mother protect the Son of Man from all danger and from all evils.” ‘ And:
‘And the Son answered: "Seek not the Law in your scriptures, for the Law is Life, whereas the scripture is dead. I tell you truly, Moses received not his laws from Father in writing, but through the living Word. The Law is living Word of living Father to living prophets for living men. In everything that is Life is the Law written. You find it in the grass, in the tree, in the river, in the mountain, in the birds of heaven, in the fishes of the sea; but seek it chiefly in yourselves. For I tell you truly, all living things are nearer to Father than the scripture which is without Life. Father so made Life and all living things that they might by the Everlasting Word teach the laws of the True Father to man. Father wrote not the laws in the pages of books, but in your heart and in your spirit. They are in your breath, your blood, your bone; in your flesh, your bowels, your eyes, your ears, and in every little part of your body. They are present in the Air, in the Water, in the Earth, in the plants, in the sunbeams, in the depths and in the heights. They all speak to you that you may understand the tongue and the will of the living Father. But you shut your eyes that you may not see, and you shut your ears that you may not hear. I tell you truly, that the scripture is the work of Man, but Life and all its hosts are the work of our Father. Wherefore do you not listen to the words of Father which are written in His works? And wherefore do you study the dead scriptures which are the work of the hands of men?"
"How may we read the laws of Father elsewhere than in the scriptures? Where are they written? Read them to us from there where you see them, for we know nothing else but the scriptures which we have inherited from our forefathers. Tell us the laws of which you speak, that hearing them we may be healed and justified."
the Son said: "You do not understand the words of Life, because you are in death. Darkness darkens your eyes and your ears are stopped with deafness. For I tell you, it profits you not at all that you pore over dead scriptures if by your deeds you deny Him who has given you the scriptures.
I tell you truly, Father and His laws are not in that which you do. They are not in gluttony and in wine-bibbing, neither in riotous living, nor in lustfulness, nor in seeking after riches, nor yet in hatred of your enemies. For all these things are far from the True Father and from His angels. But all these things come from the kingdom of darkness and the lord of all evils. And all these things do you carry in yourselves; and so the word and the power of Father enter not into you, because all manner of evil and all manner of abominations have their dwelling in your body and your spirit. If you will that the living Father's Word and His power may enter you, defile not your body and your spirit; for the body is the Temple of the Spirit, and the Spirit is the Temple of Father. Purify, therefore, the Temple, that the Father of the Temple may dwell therein and occupy a place that is worthy of Him.
"And from all temptations of your body and your Spirit, coming from Satan, withdraw beneath the shadow of Father’s Heaven.
"Renew yourselves and fast. For I tell you truly, that Satan and his plagues may only be cast out by - fasting and by prayer. Go by yourself and fast alone, and show your fasting to no man. The living Father shall see it and great shall be your reward. And fast till Beelzebub and all his evils depart from you, and all the angels of our Earthly Mother come and serve you. For I tell you truly, except you fast, you shall never be freed from the power of Satan and from all diseases that come from Satan. Fast and pray fervently, seeking the power of the living Father for your healing. While you fast, eschew the Sons of Men and seek our Earthly Mother's angels, for he that seeks shall find.
"Seek the fresh Air of the forest and of the fields, and there in the midst of them shall you find the angel of Air. Put off your shoes and your clothing and suffer the angel of Air to embrace all your body. Then breathe long and deeply, that the angel of Air may be brought within you. I tell you truly, the angel of Air shall cast out of your body all uncleannesses which defiled it without and within. And thus shall all evil-smelling and unclean things rise out of you, as the smoke of fire curls upwards and is lost in the sea of the Air. For I tell you truly, Holy is the angel of Air, who cleanses all that is unclean and makes all evil-smelling things of a sweet odour. No man may come before the face of Father, whom the angel of Air lets not pass. Truly, all must be born again by Air and by Truth, for your body breathes the Air of the Earthly Mother, and your spirit breathes the Truth of the Heavenly Father.
"After the angel of Air, seek the angel of Water. Put off your shoes and your clothing and suffer the angel of Water to embrace all your body. Cast yourselves wholly into His enfolding arms, and as often as you move the Air with your breath, move with your body the Water also. I tell you truly, the angel of Water shall cast out of your body all uncleannesses which defiled it without and within. And all unclean and evil-smelling things shall flow out of you, even as the uncleannesses of garments washed in Water flow away and are lost in the stream of the river. I tell you truly, Holy is the angel of Water who cleanses all that is unclean and makes all evil-smelling things of a sweet odour. No man may come before the face of Father whom the angel of Water lets not pass. In very Truth, all must be born again of Water and of Truth, for your body bathes in the river of earthly Life, and your spirit bathes in the river of Life everlasting. For you receive your blood from our Earthly Mother and the Truth from our Heavenly Father.
"Think not that it is sufficient that the angel of Water embrace you outwards only. I tell you truly, the uncleanness within is greater by much than the uncleanness without. And he who cleanses himself without, but within remains unclean, is like to tombs that outwards are painted fair, but are within full of all manner of horrible uncleannesses and abominations. So I tell you truly, suffer the angel of Water to baptise you also within, that you may become free from all your past sins, and that within likewise you may become as pure as the river's foam sporting in the sunlight.
"Seek, therefore, a large trailing gourd, having a stalk the length of a man; take out its inwards and fill it with water from the river which the sun has warmed. Hang it upon the branch of a tree, and kneel upon the ground before the angel of Water, and suffer the end of the stalk of the trailing gourd to enter your hinder parts, that the Water may flow through all your bowels. Afterwards rest kneeling on the ground before the angel of Water and pray to the living Father that He will forgive you all your past sins, and pray the angel of Water that he will free your body from every uncleanness and disease. Then let the Water run out from your body, that it may carry away from within it all the unclean and evil-smelling things of Satan. And you shall see with your eyes and smell with your nose all the abominations, and uncleannesses which defiled the Temple of your body; even all the sins which abode in your body, tormenting you with all manner of pains. I tell you truly, baptism with Water frees you from all of these. Renew your baptising with Water on every day of your fast, till the day when you see that the Water which flows out of you is as pure as the river's foam. Then betake your body to the coursing river, and there in the arms of the angel of Water render thanks to the living Father that He has freed you from your sins. And this Holy baptising by the angel of Water is: Rebirth unto the new Life. For your eyes shall henceforth see, and your ears shall hear. Sin no more, therefore, after your baptism, that the angels of Air and of Water may eternally abide in you and serve you evermore.
"And if afterward there remain within you aught of your past sins and uncleannesses, seek the angel of Sunlight. Put off your shoes and your clothing and suffer the angel of Sunlight to embrace all your body. Then breathe long and deeply, that the angel of Sunlight may be brought within you. And the angel of Sunlight shall cast out of your body all evil-smelling and unclean things which defiled it without and within. And all unclean and evil-smelling things shall rise from you, even as the darkness of night fades before the brightness of the rising sun. For I tell you truly, Holy is the angel of Sunlight who cleans out all uncleannesses and makes all evil-smelling things of a sweet odour. None may come before the face of Father, whom the angel of Sunlight lets not pass. Truly, all must be born again of Sun and of Truth, for your body basks in the Sunlight of the Earthly Mother, and your spirit basks in the Sunlight of the Truth of the Heavenly Father.
"The angels of Air and of Water and of Sunlight are brethren. They were given to the Son of Man that they might serve Him, and that He might go always from one to the other.
"Holy, likewise, is their embrace. They are indivisible Children of the Earthly Mother, so do not you put asunder those whom Earth and Heaven have made One. Let these three brother angels enfold you every day and let them abide with you through all your fasting.’
I hear you say all I am doing is asking you to read my writing and its true! However, He (the Supreme Being) gave us a voice and communication for Him to point things out. Have the relationship with Him not me.
Consider these things. “I Am root of Tree of Life, the words written in the Book. (It means in Heaven.) The guardian of knowledge. Wisdom of the soul. The harmoniser of sound. Controller of power. Keeper of matter. Sustainer of shapes. The scroll of time is unrolled by Me who records its changes. The reader of past and present. Scribe of change. The chooser of chance.”
“The victory and struggle for it. But I defeat defeat. I Am victory in defeat. Goodness of the good. However, I Am more. I Am success out of failure. The achievement remaining when all else goes away.”
“The sublime veiling secret mysteries. Guardian disclosing things that are hidden. Knowledge of the knower. Seed within the seed whence all things spring. The brick whence all things are built. I Am more, the clay and water within them. The motion in things that moves. Only I bring movement. Stability in things stable. Holding to its shape is within Me.” “The craftsman with innumerable shapes. Artist with many colours. That to which I labour is without the knowledge of men and works beyond sight. Masterpieces, of each, never seen by mortal eyes.”
“In breath and other than breath which it cannot know or influence controlled from within itself, Am I. Also, behind the voice, which voice cannot know or influence which controls within itself, Am I. Also, other than the eye which it doesn’t know but controls it from within, Am I. Also, the touch and what is behind it yet is other than it and cannot know or influence manipulated from behind itself, Am I. Yet you must know that I Am not you nor you Me though I abide in you and you Me. Wisdom will disentangle feeble words being part of and through the hands of mortal men.”
“Glory shining from Lord of the Day. Also, gentle gleam from Mistress of the Night. Comforting glow from hearth fire. These are of My Substance. Also I penetrate Earth with Love. Raise up Seed. The breath within breath of living things. The sweet scent of flowers. The bitter tang of vinegar. The differentiating essence in all things.”
