He's a Jew. He doesn't call himself a Christian. He's a servant of Christ. All Messianic Jews keen to promote their Jewishness must not lose sight that they too serve Yeshua. Paul also acknowledges his weakness, will only boast in this and his dependence on others.
I'm a Gentile! I boast in my weaknesses also. In Daniel 9:4, Daniel is keen to confess his sins and in so doing acknowledges the awesome God he and we serve: "I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments."
Let's look at another passage of scripture which I can also identify with. (Nehemiah 1:4-6.) "When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Then I said: “Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you." Like Nehemiah, I can weep when I see people being cruelly oppressed, taken advantage of, being unloved, etc. It crushes me to see love for God and our neighbour not being displayed as a way of life. Nehemiah, like Daniel, acknowledges the God of Heaven, His undying love for those who keep His commandments and asks Him to 'be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night.'
We must also, 'pray constantly' (without ceasing) like Paul mentions in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. This is an attitude of God consciousness and surrender. Not in prayer all the time but being in touch with God throughout the day. This, at least, I have found myself like the more illustrious names mentioned above able to perform most of the time.
