How shall we trust Him here in 2016? There are very many ills in the world and things which can trouble us. Economic collapse, pollution (not least from chemtrails in the sky) and degradation of supplies particularly in the cities where many of us live, ISIS and other forms of terror, forms of Satanism brought about by the Elites, extinction of species and plants, climate change/global warming and world war.
These all come to influence us and put fear in our hearts. We need to trust in Jesus and give Him our fears. Look at Psalm 34: "I will extol the LORD at all times; His Praise will always be on my lips. I will Glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt His Name together. I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; He saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them. Taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Fear the LORD, you His Holy People, for those who fear Him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Come, My children, listen to Me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The Eyes of the LORD are on the Righteous, and His Ears are attentive to their cry; but the Face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. The Righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The Righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; He protects all His bones, not one of them will be broken. Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the Righteous will be condemned. The LORD will rescue His Servants; no one who takes refuge in Him will be condemned."
Psalm 116 continues this theme teaching us also that when we call on His Name to help us will show mercy. Is this also a reflection of this year we are currently living in, 2016? "I love the LORD, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His Ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live. The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the Name of the LORD: “LORD, save me!” The LORD is Gracious and Righteous; our God is full of Compassion. The LORD Protects the unwary; when I was brought low, He saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you. For you, LORD, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the LORD in the Land of the Living. I trusted in the LORD when I said, “I am greatly afflicted”; in my alarm I said, “Everyone is a liar.” What shall I return to the LORD for all His Goodness to me? I will lift up the Cup of Salvation and call on the Name of the LORD. I will fulfil my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His Faithful Servants. Truly I am Your servant, LORD; I serve You just as my mother did; You have freed me from my chains. I will Sacrifice a Thank Offering to You and call on the Name of the LORD. I will fulfil my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people, in the Courts of the House of the LORD— in Your Midst, Jerusalem. Praise the LORD."
We have a Mighty God who protects us. What are the nations against us? Or the peoples? Learn the True Nature of our God towards us and puts us in a place of superiority. Psalm 23 talks of this too but hear I am using Psalm 2. Thus: "Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in Heaven laughs; the LORD scoffs at them. He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath, saying, “I have installed My King on Zion, My Holy Mountain.” I will proclaim the LORD's Decree: He said to Me, “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father. Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your Inheritance, the ends of the earth Your Possession. You will break them with a rod of iron; You will dash them to pieces like pottery.” Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate His Rule with trembling. Kiss His Son, or He will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for His Wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him."
He gives many things to His children. They will be mighty, for instance. Compare this too the wicked who waste away. Far better to be like Jacob who though evil like us patiently endured compared to Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil stew - he wanted the world and wanted it now. (Psalm 112.) "Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in His Commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the Generation of the Upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honour. The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing."
When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. (Psalm 56:3.) "Let the morning bring me word of Your Unfailing Love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me The Way I should go,for to You I entrust my life." (Psalm 143:8.) "The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in Truth. (Psalm 145:18.) "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the Shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2.) Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalm 37:3-4.) Amen.
